Hi all!
I am currently in the process of adding new resources, information, and documents to my website. Please forgive me if my pages are lacking at the moment, but I will be adding the most important information first! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need access to something that I have removed during revisions. Thanks, Ms. Hanah Sims

I hope everyone is enjoying Thanksgiving break and is able to spend time with friends and family. I just want to send a shout-out to all of the parents, guardians, fellow faculty, and students and let you know that I am grateful for everything you do for our school, community, and one another. I am blessed to be a part of this "family," and I am extremely thankful for having such wonderful students! Keep up the great work! I am so proud to be your teacher! :)
See you Monday! ~Ms. Sims Hello all!
Here are just a couple of reminders as Thanksgiving Break is rapidly approaching:
~Ms. Sims Attention Book Lovers & Interested Readers!
There will be a Book Club Meeting in the High School Library from 7:20-8:00 a.m. on Tuesday 11/7. If you are already in the club, we will continue discussing The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and indulging in free breakfast courtesy of our lovely lunchroom ladies. If you have never been in a Book Club, but might be interested in joining, feel free to sit-in with us as we discuss the book. Membership fees are $7.00 at the beginning of each semester in order for us to purchase new books, go on field trips, and buy t-shirts. If you come to the meeting, you are by no means obligated to join, but we would love to have you in our discussion! See you then! ~Ms. Sims Hi Everyone!
This is just a reminder that the Elementary Fall Festival is on Tuesday, October 31st from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. for grades Pre-k through 6th grade. Friends and family are invited to attend, and if your child or children are students here, one accompanying adult will get in with them for free. All other attendees will be required to pay $2.00 to help sponsor our event next year! The fall fest will include: games, apple bobbing, face-painting, costume contests, cake walks, and a pumpkin pie eating contest at 1 p.m. I hope all of you can drop by for a few minutes or attend the entire event! If you are interested in volunteering or working an activity booth, please contact the elementary office secretary for more information! ~Ms. Sims Hi All! Since we have finished up The Giver by Lois Lowry, today we discussed themes and character action at the end of the novel by comparing it to another work, "Revolution" by The Beatles. Both works discuss themes of change, freedom, non-conformity, and the effects of power. Students, as part of you participation grade for today, please answer one of the following: What did you enjoy most about this lesson or what connections helped you understand The Giver better? You can use the notes below to help you refresh if necessary. |
